Is midi system reusable?

Quite simple question: is midi system from another accordion usable?

I don't plan to use midi from other accordion, but I plan to cut out midi from my Accordiola. I wondered should I try to rip it out carefully or if it isn't reusable in other instruments, then I just cut wires.

I am no expert, but I am willing to bet that they are reusable, as long as the traits of the new location are at least the same (same number of keys and bass buttons), and nothing is broken. It also will likely depend a lot on the age type and condition of the current setup.

But, if you are not using it, leaving it there doesn't do any harm, so what is the reason you want to remove it?

It is quite old midi system. It has mechanical spring based switches. Some wires need to be cutted anyway because there is small hole where wires go inside accordion and it is waxed. I suspect that connector is too big for hole.

I bought my Accordiola as used instrument with midi, but I use it very rarely. I wish to get keyboard action little lighter, I thought that removing these spring switches at least from right hand keyboard makes maybe do it. There may be possibly problem with keyboard itself because screws that hold keyboard mechanics back cover aren't original and there are three different types of screws. Maybe previous owner just tensioned valve springs too tightly. I have played this instrument some years now and recently starting wondering if Accordiola CBA mechanics are quite hard or is it little incorrectly tensioned mechanics springs.

Then ill go out on a limb and declare that very likely by far the highest resale value you can expect is while it is still inside and working in your own accordion. So either just keep it in, or document very carefully (camera!) how you are taking it out so that its pretty straightforward for you to put it back in and expect it to work again once you might sell your current accordion.

Its not likely that people will be overly interested in fitting such a system into an accordion that did not have them previously.

Sorry I forgot to post that I just cut it out, wire cutters were very useful. It wasn't worth to get it out in working order because soldering was required and rewaxing wire holes. To conclusion: these mechanical switches make keyboard much more unpleasant, my keybaird improved quite much, now it feels much smoother.
