Edited - now removed due to copyright objection below - I had copied this from one accordion magazine and said so in the post - Andy states that the magazine that I used had "lifted" the list from another magazine - I have had no contact with anyone involved in an accordion magazine since 2014 - i have no idea how any accordion magazine drew up its list - I don't want to get into any copyright issues, so the list is gone.

The background to this thread is that I had promised a list of UK accordion clubs some years ago, which I never got round to typing in.

Thanks Matt... I'm nowhere near the UK, but I can appreciate and acknowledge your effort when it shows ( :ch ), and would definitely use the info in there if I was within 300km of any of these clubs. :)

Oh... BTW, the #1 scan came out upside down... lol

I think you should have said that this list was lifted in its entirety from Accordion Profile Magazine which has been published and updated for at least 10 years, also in Accordion Profile Magazine there is a list of accordion related websites that is also very useful.

Dealing with copyright issues is always a bit sticky, and sometimes vague lines can get crossed, but lets be honest, Matt, it's not like you profited in any way from what you did, so there is. O reason for anyone to get angry about it, and secondly, if one magazine lifted th list from another, THAT was the reprehensible part.

You did good just pulling the plug... but did you just ask the magazine if you could post the info here? They just might let you, unless they lifted it from someone else... lol

Hello Matt,

Surely this information is already in the public domain, meaning that the mere publishing of a list cannot, in itself, contravene any copyright laws. Whoever drew up the list for the magazine you mention must have got this information from some previously existing list or website(s). They may have changed the format, but the information itself cannot be the sole property of one magazine.

I was the co-founder and editor of a political forum. The political stories I published were covered by the mainstream media, but no one could claim exclusivity or bring copyright actions against other organisations covering the same topic.

The only mistake you seem to have made is using a direct copy. Had you just created a list from information already in the public domain, no-one could touch you.

Kind Regards,

Stephen.
