So, my grandparents bought this for my aunt way back when at a pawn shop. She played it in church for a good deal of time, and eventually just moved on to piano. Some time later, she gave it to my uncle, who left it to rot in his garage... :( There it sat, neglected, sad and depressed... Until I asked him about it, and he gave it to me! Its perfectly in tune, and plays beautifully; however, there are a few minor issues. Several bass buttons are sticky, and the thingies (rod-like apparatuses that open the airways to the reeds) get jammed. This is incredibly annoying, and prevents me from playing most chords, less the ones I play with the single note buttons. An F key on the keyboard during master or bassoon settings does not play when the bellows are pulled. There is also a small leak in the bellows that is prevented by some good ol electrical tape.
All this being said, I present you my mysterious Italian squeeze-box! :D

It's a lovely looking box.. mid 1950s I'd guess, although not hugely sought after with just the 2 voices. And that logo is frustratingly familiar... but I can't recall the maker. Worth having it looked at, but bass side mechanisms can take a lot of time. And time equals...$$

The logo is most similar to Weltmeister's badge, but I don't think Weltmeister sounds very Italian... Also, this looks nothing like a Weltmeister. Been Googling "vintage Italian accordions" "1950s Italian accordion" blah blah blah. Nothing. I can't find anything similar! :hb

my guess is the german weltmeister make copied this badge s design for some of its models - as the logo throws you without knowing the actual make and model

Update:
After messing around with the bass rod things, I am pleased to announced that not one button is sticky anymore! 8-) Using a bit of my own Vulcan logic, and a ton of supernatural guidance from The Lord, I was able to manipulate the internal workings enough to make it a professional sounding and playing instrument again. :b
Now, all he needs is a bass strap replacement, and we'll be good to go!

However, the mystery of the maker continues... (Cue suspenseful murder-mystery radio program music here)

Well done. Where is the strap clip and threaded bolt for the bass strap? Is It lost?
If so, get a new strap, theyre easy to fix compared to what youve done already.
Thisll give you an idea- http://www.cgmmusical.co.uk/CGM_Musical_Services/Bass_Straps.html (note different lengths)
- but I suspect youre in US, I think Charlie will ship to you but youll be better off using a US source.

Why, thank you very much. I was rather surprised I could do it! Fortunately, all of the hardware it still there, it just needs to be replaced. I'll see to getting a replacement strap very soon.

Had a super difficult time ordering from Busso Music Co. I still don't know if I'm getting a strap or not...
(Unrelated: I most certainly do not recommend this company.)
