I admit that I will be a little nervous until the package arrives safely. The video the owner sent of them playing the only classical piece they remembered from their childhood lessons helps me feel fairly confident it is legitimate. But reading about scams isn't settling my nerves, already worried about risks in shipping. Can I caution you that there are scams on leboncoin just as on other sites ,as I have personal experience.
I tried to buy a Roland fr4x last year and on two separate occasions the sellers were trying to scam people into sending the money first.
Luckily I had paid via leboncoins own payment protection scheme so I got my money back , but there were comments on other accordion forums in France so obviously others had been taken in.
I'm not suggesting for one moment that this seller isn't genuine but you can be very vulnerable when you are unable to deal in person.
The Maugein factory is in Tulle where they have a" Nuits de Nacre" festival each year lasting about a week purely for accordions.
There is a river running through the centre of the town where accordeonistes play in the evenings while gliding up and down the river.
Hoping for the best, and to distract myself, I started a fundraiser for Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine! Inspired by me getting a new accordion, I thought of a fundraiser where accordionists gather $1,000 in aid to Ukraine (the cost of a pretty nice accordion). I announced it on Accordion Noir Radio last night as we played Ukrainian folk music. It was a good show. A Russian designer let us use his neon Ukrainian accordion image. I'll post about it in a new thread in a second, but there's more here:
