i have an accordion to repair that has a black key missing. In my box o parts, I have some black keys that are much wider, so in order to match the size, I took the wide key and with a razor saw, I cut off one side of the plastic on the key, then sanded down the other side to remove some width then reglued the plastic to the side of the key. When dry, sand and buff with rubbing compound. Do a good job and you. Virtually can’t see the modification. Then glue onto the key bed and play it! Don’t worry about the key height of the replacement. You adjust that by bending the pallet rod till the key height matches the rest, Photos show the key with the side sawed off and the the finished key.
