Hi Elizabeth
My sympathies regarding your medical predicament.
I have no personal experience and no expertise whatsoever in the matter but do understand it is a serious issue and that the PRC procedure may not always bring satisfactory, lasting results for everyone.
I was unable to find any information relating to playing a musical instrument post PRC.
I guess it's a case of wait and see?
Best of luck with whatever you eventually decide.
Although there appear to be very few personal accounts of the experience of undergoing PRC, here is one personal account of someone's PRC journey which may or may not be of interest to you :
I did not see any alert that anyone had responded to my post of August 1 so I did not see your comment till I just now logged in.
The doctor thinks I should not have that procedure unless my pain gets worse than it is, which is now in a range of only mild to moderate. I am very adapted to this pain right now. . And have been able to practice a couple hours a day, although sometimes fast scale passages are wonky. He thinks I have very good mobility and I agree. The PRC would increase stability, reduce pain and leave me with less mobility. So for now, I’m going to leave it. Thank you very very much for your responses!
