[[[A Lachenal Edeophone? These rivalled with Wheatstone aeola ECs.]]]

No, I love Edeos and would know one on sight. Sorry, it has a premium model name I've come across before, and it rang a bell when Mr. Jarry said it, but now it's eluding me. It had wooden ends and decorations on the ends as well as the bellows.

Perhaps 'Paragon' , 'Excelsior' , ' Inimitable ' or ' Nompariel' ? These were wooden ended six sided models with inlays or fancy finishes etc but not a match for the 'New Model' , in my opinion the best EC's from Lachenal. I've had several Edeophones and several New Models and I'd buy another New Model any day.

Have you heard the carbon one? Also how did you decide to buy the Grilles traditionnelles model, vs solid miroir or Pedro?
Thanks

Here is a sample for the cabon model.

I chose the Grilles traditionnelles model purely because of its unique look. The mirror model looks a bit boring to me and the pedro model doesnt really stand out. I believe the difference in timbre is subtle enough that I am not going to worry about that too much.

Thank you for the carbon link. I agree that the difference in timbre between the various models are subtle, but they sound different enough that someone might prefer one over another, or one for jazz and another for classical, etc. Having more than one might be nice. Or a necessity if you want to play like Roland Kirk.

It would be too expensive to get a few accordinas. If I want more than one of them, I would rather look for a used Cavagnolo digital accordion which gives the sounds of various accordinas (including Marcels ones). Another consideration I had was that I havent seen anyone play the wood models. Personally, I wanted to stick with something common as it would be less likely to go wrong.
