It is the Dingo40 ( in the PUB thread ) who started me down a rabbit hole where I got to see the level of development of a brilliant young musician:

From a highly competent piano accordion player at 8 years old to a full-blown Bayan converter at 16 is pretty good going, too.

Some people are born just to make me feel totally inadequate

Fabulous talent. But he is not playing a "full-blown" bayan convertor but a compact (Italian) model with 52 notes (instead of 64 on a full-blown one).

So?
Near enough is good enough for producing such marvellous music. ;)
Such a compact instrument is certainly good enough. (I still wouldn't call it a "full blown bayan". The boy still has some growing to do.)
My wife plays a Bugari 540/ARS/C which is the same size and is wonderful. But alas she cannot play like that 16-year old and neither can I.

I always wanted to know what are the methods of teaching genius level students. I m thinking they use some kind of brainwashing methods. Because its not possible to understand to an 8 year old, music theory to absorb (understand) a complicated classical piece. It must be sort of a magic trick that works on extra talented. That leads to fakeness of some kind. This boy is special I know him from past, however I also want to know what happened to a lot of genius boys and girls today in viral videos from the past. I was there at the conservatory and worked hard. I had high talent too. But still cant understand the mechanism here.

Hmmmm, we have a problem here Captain Kirk. When β€œmusic” is about technical performance that makes people feel inadequate the demise of the culture can’t be far behind. Ffingers you are completely adequate in everything you do. Please keep playing at your own level which is perfect. I feel like those people who diss digital accordions but this virtuosity pedestal makes me weird.

Thanks Tom, you are so kind.
But I have no illusions about my abilities, such as they are.
Likewise, the realities of my existence, annoying as they are at times, do not impact my sense of self worth and other folks opinions are of little interest, generally speaking.
β€œTo thine own self be true” is a fair motto to live by and having endured more than 80 years on this planet I am getting well acquainted with my strengths and frailties. πŸ˜‰.

Good to hear!!!

So, you are only just getting started into musical maturity?!

Many years ahead of you, I hope. :)
Yes I think... I changed bassoon with accordion (nice move), I worked 11 years on accordion (nice move), I m making money from lessons and gigs (nice move), I covered the lack of experiences and knowledge they have not been given in conservatory (very nice move). So yes I matured 😁 :coffee:
