Hi Everybody -

I've had my BK-7M for around a decade and really like it. But the styles are getting a little stale. I think I've been through every style time and again and they are getting repetitive. I occasionally find one I haven't visited (Midnight Blues, under Jazz is the current one) that I really like but after a couple weeks I tire of them.

Are there any styles for sale that are worth it? I would like more 3/4 time styles as they are extremely limited on the BK-7M. And Jazz styles.

A cursory Internet search provides such gems as "1500 new BK-7M styles!" from eBay for $20 and I imagine they're just repurposed MIDI files. Or worse.

Has anybody had any luck with finding new BK-7M styles? I don't mind at all paying for packages of them if they are decently done. I use them so often that it's well worth it. Thanks!

Someone on Facebook converted many Korg styles to Bk7m. Since I am no longer on Facebook, I do not remember whom it was…think on one of the bk7m Forums on FB?

This is one of the styles I added to my Bk7m. Although, I no longer own it.

Try that link it contains hundreds of converted styles some are usable some are terrible but you have to take time to go through them and pick out the ones that work for you. I found a few but still had to tweak them using the BK7m tools in the menu to get them to my liking - hopefully this helps good luck. You may have to install the Dropbox app and create an account for it to work but it is free

You don't need a dropbox account.
It mentions dropbox but underneath is a "download anyway" part.
I used that and it downloaded fine.
There's a lot of them!!
Thanks Pbraido (y)

Good to know. I had a dropbox account and just downloaded it. You are correct, there are tons of styles there! It's going to be a chore going through them...but it's a fun chore. Thanks again Pbraido!

Just came back to thank you again Pbraido! I just went through maybe 100 of the 1000+ and they are way, way better than I expected. I see what you are saying with minor tweaking being required. Some sounds are too loud, some styles are too soft, and some of the transitions need a tiny bit of work, but wow, so many of these are great right out of the box. I went through primarily the Jazz Styles and it's so refreshing to hear different baselines and rhythms. I had thought I would sit down for 10 minutes auditioning them but ended up 90 minutes later realizing I had things to do this morning!

I wouldn't have expected something like this to be available for an old box that was discontinued years ago. Thanks again!

You are more then welcome I almost forgot about those styles that I had until you brought that up in your post

And these…link expires in two days
Thank you! Also excellent! There's one in there that's called Hollywood Musical 1 or something and it's just awesome! I don't think I knew the BK-7M could do that. Thank you for providing these!

I noticed that from some of the Style names, and I know you're a big Korg fan. Now I understand why. Those styles have a lot going on - and I find it tasteful. They are really good - so good that I wish Korg would release an arranger module similar to the BK-7M. I've always known that that the PA series arrangers are well-respected, but this was my first time hearing it for myself. Thanks again!

These styles are from a 2008 released Korg, pa500. I been using Korg arrangers since then. I tried Bk7m for a couple years, found it to be ok but more of the 90’s brand of style quality. But still good results on a gig. The Korg pa1000 is the next best thing to a compact unit, only 23 pounds. But I do not move around much, so one of my 3 Korg arrangers remains on my house gig site.
If a new arranger module is released with the notebook size as the Bk7m, I definitely will look into it.
Have fun in your music career.
