People who play in bands sometimes don't use the bass side at all, but when playing alone it's much more fun. I forget if you're following some instructional material, but if not ... There should be a bass button right about in the middle, 3rd row from the inside, that's marked so you can feel the difference, and which plays a C. You might just use that one for starters, just when it harmonizes with what you're playing. Then when you get bored, try the ones on either side. If you can get that working, you have the essential idea.

The thing is that August is a horrible work-month for me, so in this month I have very less time to practice on PA. But I started to use the bass side a little bit, and exactly on the way as you suggested! My problem is however that that centre "C" button is hardly detectable for me... Yes, it is a bit different because its top is a bit concave. But the difference is not at all enough to find it easyly... So it will be not an easy mission to learn how to reach it quickly...
First of all, my goal is to learn on the bass side how to play the "classic" "Oompah" sound... you know, the most frequently used rhythm on the bass side in waltz music... Fortunately, I found a youtube video about that, and I have even downloaded it in order to be able to follow it offline and without being interrupted with stupid promotions and advertisings...
(Actually I have approx. 100 downloaded video about piano accordion... lessons and so on... I downloaded them while I had been waiting for my PA...)

I note on the side, that I ordered her a new strap set, made from genuine leather (and made in USA!) although it'll be arrived only in September.
As well as I ordered a new case for her. For the time being she has no any... I covered her with a blanket. I think she definitely deserved a new "garment". This new case is actually a packsack, or something like that. Allegedly padded.

Hey Carnivore,
Couple of things that may help.
If you cannot find the C button b/c the mark is too subtle you can always modify it to make it more distinguishable. Most will take a small rhinestone and glue it on the top of the C button, or you could take a hot drill bit and make the concave a bit deeper (just don't put much pressure on the button doing this you shouldn't be pushing the button in while making the concave deeper)

The second is about the case. If there are no children/pets in the room the accordion lives it is better to have it out of the case with just a dust cover over it (optionally). Ever since I received my Victoria from the factory she has only been in the case while traveling, otherwise she sits in the playing orientation on a rug waiting for me to pick her up. This can only be done if it is in an area where it will be left alone however...

Thank you very much, this info is useful to be known!
No, there are no pets in my room, neither any child. Neither wife, ha-ha-ha... My way of life is rather similar to that of a hermit...
But I suppose it would be not really an easy mission to find a wife who're willing and ready to follow my eating habit... lots of raw meat, raw (pork) brain, raw bloody liver... sometimes bugs, too... Okay, I eat cooked meat mostly. But raw too! Believe it or not, it made very good to my health. VERY, very good! This is why I chose here the nickname "Carnivore Caveman". But I have to admit, it is rather likely that the wast majority of female beings (as well as men, too...) are inclined to think this way of eating is disgusting. So, it is a very lucky situation that I'm living alone...
Okay, so, following your advice I'll keep my PA without the case, only covered her.

Actually I would like to have a cat, but my room is very, very small and I am too busy generally. So, as a temporary solution, in place of real cat I downloaded cat purring "music" and sometimes I listen that...
Hi guys, how is it possible to play cat purring on a piano accorion, huh? (don't worry, it was a joke...)
Anyhow, the case is ordered and paid already, but no problem, it'll be good when I move her to somewhere, during traveling (although it is a very rare occasion...) and so on.
My room has air-conditioning. Tell me please what moisture level and temperature is the most fitting to a PA?

Hii CC,
Just two words of caution ?
First, eating raw meat can expose you to parasitic diseases, such as Creutzfeldt Jacob disease (very nasty), so maybe not advisable??
See here:
Second, keeping an accordion out of a case exposes all the bits made of felt ( eg pallets) to attack by moths. Again, perhaps not a good idea??

Dear Dingo40, everything is dangerous: to be born is also a life-threatening risk... :)
So, as far as the eating habit is concerned, we have to choose a good, clean, reliable food-source...
You cannot avoid all danger in the life. The only thing we can do is to choose what kind of dangers and risks we undertake.
Anyhow, our stomach is so acidic as that of the Python, and in that snake a whole crocodile disappears, dissolves... There are not so much viruses, bacteries and so on which is able to tolerate that acidic environment.
So, yes, you're right, to eat raw meat has obviously higher risk than eating cooked food, but the difference is not so big than many people think.

Hey CC-

Everything in life has a risk, it just depends on how much you want to accept. :)

@Dingo40 I would rather have it out in playing condition than try to put it in the case on a daily basis for two reasons.
1. you are more likely to damage the keyboard, straps and buttons getting it in and out of the case.
2. If it is out looking at you sadly you are more apt to pick it up and use it. :)

I understand about the moths and creatures getting into it, but where I am at the Wolf Spiders that get rather large take care of most bugs, so I really don't have a moth problem where I am at. (now the spiders that is another story...)

As to temp and humidity, I have always been told that if you are comfortable, so is the accordion.
However as I am living in a desert climate, I have never had to worry about the moisture. The heat however is a different story. Leaving an accordion in a car or in the sunshine here can be disastrous.

By the way I keep wanting to call you "Captain Caveman" from the old cartoon and now calling you CC doesn't help. :)
I am happy that your diet works for you, but growing up the son of a grocer I am less inclined to take on a raw diet after seeing some of the things that happen in a commercial butcher shop.

fjsys,
I'll raise you a red headed mouse spider!?
