Its quite old. Its 120 bess 2 voice. Likely to be prewar. If its been in your loft for many years the varying humidity and temperatures have likely done a lot of damage. It may well cost a lot more to repair than its value. Though someone might buy it for spare parts which would not be for very much. The two worst places to keep an accordion is in the garage or the loft. I was once given an accordion which had been in a garage for a few years. The amount of damage to the bellows, seals and reeds. I had to dump it down the tip, as it was not worth anything.

Hi Alex; For sure this is a rare find. You will almost never find an early PA in the condition your pictures show. Have you tried to play it ???

Its been in a case, yea ive had it out and it looks clean when opened and it does play, atleast I think it does, it makes noise, if its in good working condition how much is it likely to be worth?

A price can only be determined by it's playability. Collectors love these,I would try ebay and and ask for offers.

It certainly looks nice. Lets hope its as good as it looks.

Bit far from Cheshire for me to have a look...
Does it smell musty like old books/mildew?

Last one S. Vibrante 4, c. same age, I saw sold on ebay, looked in good condition but admitted a couple of small issues, made £155.

Yours does look good so it may make a bit more for the interior decorators. I'd love to have a tinker with it if you happen to be coming Cheshire way...?

Hi people, first time post.
I came to the site as it was one of only two sites with info on a Pre-war Scandalli vibrante four accordion, as mentioned in this thread. I HAVE ONE! (and it may be for sale depending on its worth etc) Its in exceptional condition, and thankfully cant have been kept in a loft or garage!, the bellows are perfect, not a scratch or ding on any of the case or exterior, it looks like it would have been fresh from the factory (exactly the same one as photographed above) Below are some links to photos ive uploaded.. (if this thread is still alive).

I have amaturely restored one cheapo accordion before (as a guitar maker/repairer) so knew vaguely what to look out for inside. All leather flaps are working and sealing, none are bent, NO notes sound when the instrument is opened or closed, and considerable force is needed to open/close it without the release button pressed. Allthough the compression seems very good, I believe only one paddle on the piano side is letting the side down, as I can feel air escape from it with the cover off. with this felt replaced, I think the accordion would be like new. Im asking here what people think it could be worth. It is serial number 3900ish, and exactly matches the photographed example above. It is the most beautiful accordion i have ever seen.

Anyway, if anybody out there can give me any information on the accordion or its value it would be really apprieciated,
Thanks, Ollie
