Hi All,

I was experimenting with recording some of the built-in accordion tones from the BK-7M last week. Here are a couple of samples. The styles used were recorded, as is, and no effort was made to tweak any of the parts. I played my own bass over the style, because I am an old dog and it is hard to learn new tricks. Attached are two short recordings. I converted them from Wav to MP3 files to save room.
On A Clear Day Italian Folk and Steirische
Lapp Land Pollka Soft accord and Accordion 2
Dont play these files on your computer unless you have a good set of powered speakers or it just sounds tinny. I burned all my experiments to a CD and then played them back on my home entertainment system (with a sub woofer). Awesome!

Disclaimer: No reeds were harmed in the production of these songs.

Next up, I am going to experiment with recording accordion tones from my FR-3X. It has a great accordion set that emulates an ethnic button box. Ill record it with high-low accordion bass as see what happens.

Not much happening on my MIDI recording project of the FR-3X/BK-7M set-up using Sonar LE. So far I am unable to get UP2 to record on channel 6, LWR to record on channel 11, and MBS to record on channel 12 (Roland says these are the default channels for parts). I can get UP1 and UP2 to record on channel 4, but then UP2 never sends a patch change, when required, and the whole recording stays on UP1. All the parts from the BK-7M record great. And on the correct channels.

more later,

Rolf

Good sound as I would expect from Roland, well played.

Hi Rolf, I meant to say I enjoyed these (though without the full effect of quality speakers) and I think playing your own bass lines when using midi is often a good way to go anyway. As Soul says, nice.
