We're having a little contest, running until the end of March. Please feel free to enter - see the thread in the "I Did That" section of the forum. Don't be shy, have a go!
I have a Hohhner Corona diatonic accordion with broken reeds but don't know how to inentify them in order to send for new ones, can anyone help me please?.
if the broken reeds are still on the reedblocks you can work it out what they are by referring to a keyboard chart (available on melodeon.net which is linked to this forum) eg 3rd button on a row corresponds with the third hole(s) on the reedblock.
if only one reed of the pair is broken it is simple to identify eg if 3rd button F push & G pull only plays on the push its the G reed broken, but of course you will replace the pair on the same plate
Just noticed that you are referring to a ''two row corona''. Coronas are three row boxes eg GCF . Assuming yours is a hohner it is more likely to be an Erica, Erika, or pokerwork.
Probably worth looking at or better still siigning up to melodeon.net for a wealth of friendly advice on diatonic boxes
I now know what reeds I need and found them on Ebay but I need a reed with E and F but when ordering on Ebay they don't give you the option to select both keys and both octaves. I tried explaining this to them but can't get any results. In other words there is only two blocks in which you can select the key F and octave 4 but I couldn't select the other Tongue and the octave which would be F octave 4 on the aluminum block . Is it possible ,if the tongue on the block is E the other one would be automatically F???.
