First post. I have this Giulietti Bassetti s2 36. To be honest I’m not even sure that is what this is, just my best guess..

I’m not quite sure what I have, and if it’s a decent accordion I’d hate to waste it on me, a non-accordion player. Picked it up at a garage sale about 10 years back. Electronics don’t seem to work and one bass key sticks sometimes but otherwise plays fine. Straps are super comfortable. Can anybody tell me anything about it? How do I find out when and where it was made? Any insight would be appreciated. IMG_2669.jpeg

It doesn’t appear to have a standard Stradella bass system. Someone on here likely knows the particulars of the model but I would bet good money it’s a freebass system. There are several free bass systems out there and most players that know a freebass system know only one or two them. So it may be challenging to find a buyer, though someone out there would be interested.

Any insight would be appreciated.
Welcome JTD!🙂
This appears to be a Giulietti branded accordion made by Zero Sette makers from the late 1960s/early 70s.
These were well made and durable.
I'm not sure what the basses are (Ben-jammin seems to know 🙂)
I myself have a 41/140 LMH, model 74, PA from the exact same period. I've had it second hand for 50+years and absolutely nothing (not even the original straps) has ever given me any trouble whatever.🙂
(Mine has an extra column of minor thirds counter basses for playing Balkan style music , hence 140 bass buttons)

That is a C-system “minor thirds” 3-row free bass setup. It has no Stradella bass so if you want to play this, you will need to learn this style of bass system. The mic’s don’t work likely because it needs a viable 9-volt battery installed/replaced somewhere.

It’s not a popular instrument thanks to this style bass system.

I appreciate all of the responses. Good to know that it is a niche market. I saw another post on here that suggested that free bass systems may be more popular in Chicago. Any merit to that? I live just a few hours from there.
