What might have been...??

My back hurts just looking at that! I’m not surprised he can only muster one major 6th interval for the whole song.

Yeah, I thought it might be a special empty box, deliberately light, for dancing with rather than playing...The other chap certainly seemed to be doing all the musical work!
It just might be a light weight accordion, Cavagnolo from France has a 41/120 model that supposedly wieghs 7.5 kg because it's all wireless technology. It has a carbon fibre body which keeps it light. I'm not in the market for a new digital accordion but it looks interesting as it's under 17 lbs which is super lightweight compared to my FR8X. You could save your back and knees and hips and incorporate dancing into your routine.

in europe i am sure one can make an inquiry directly to her at Cavognolo,
here in the USA Frank Busso / Deffner still import and distribute Cavognolo
if anyone wants to pursue it further, he would be glad to help.

Frank mentions that they are starting to plan things as the country gets
back to something like Normal this year, and hopes to be again involved
at the accordion events and such, so we may get a chance to see and hear
some of these new things outside of YouTube once again

In October of 2020 I was in Paris (France) and saw them in an accordion store. They looked very beautiful because they are highly decorated with lots of great scrolling on the grill. If money was not an option I would definitely consider one myself but they seem to be expensive when you consider the currency exchange rate and the reviews were not very high as compared to Roland accordions. Perhaps one day I will invest in something of the sort.

the original Odyssee was a nice reedless, and it is awesome to see
that the passion for this model still exists in that company

i mean they do not have nearly the resources of a Roland, yet
have a very competitive product to offer the Accordion world

consider, this current model, the Digit Air, has wireless MIDI as well as
Bluetooth and wireless audio, a programming app on iPad, and a MIDI Expander
designed specifically for this instrument, and also designed to be upgrade-able
so as to future proof the platform

as far as reviews are concerned, you have to bear in mind the Cavagnolo Digital
was designed and voiced and setup from a very French point of view...
personally i think any box player who LOVES the sound of a French accordion
above all else will very much enjoy one simply on it's merits as a reedless accordion

beyond that, yes a premium price is paid for the rest of the electronics and the
carbon fiber body design ! amazing that they invested that amount of money into
something that exotic... i mean it's not like they can sell 100,000 tennis rackets
to easily recoup the tooling costs

i tip my hat to the Cavognolo company !

c'est Bien
