I actually have an "AVerMedia Live Gamer Portable 2 PLUS" that I can put between my second screen and the laptop's HDMI output, and it will do a complete screen recording to an SDcard. Problem is, it is already doing duty as a HDMI grabber from my camcorder into my laptop, and the cheap alternatives I could use for that purpose are doing a worse job with that (and I am not buying more of those versatile but uncheap AVerMedia things).Kudos that you tried to record it David, but sometimes simplicity is the best... a simple screen capture using something like Camtasia would have been more than adequate and setting Zoom to "focus" on the speaker...
I actually like the gallery view, allowing me to let my eyes wander. And in this kind of session, full resolution on the current speaker does not seem necessary. Once we have 20 participants, my opinion may differ…but thanks for trying.
A PostScriptum here: I just thought I might cut out a bit of where I was explaining about arranger use, and of course then it's kind of secondary who is watching the talker. It really will be interesting to see whether the "temporary" files left by Zoom's recording can be used for managing this in a better way or whether they are essentially not providing more video data.
Be it as it may, my goal this time was just to figure out what the recording does: I was not expecting to get what I consider good right away. You have to start somewhere.
