ACCORDION KEYS SOUNDING LIKE SNARE DRUM SIZZLE
Before I take this apart what makes a sizzle sound on a key as the reed vibrates. Sounds correct but it sounds like a rivet vibrating. What can make this sound? Don't want to open this a find a dancing rattle snake! Thanks Ron

1 of 3 things could be happening here. (1) a plastic or leather valve is not closing properly.(2) The reed tongue is misaligned. And most likely (3) the reed is loose in the reed block and will have to be re-waxed.

Sometimes the trim on grill or the coupler mechanism can vibrate with certain frequencies.

Yep... not a Hohner Lucia is it? I've had that 'sizzle' when the pointy tip of the nike like slash on the grill vibrates at a certain frequency...

Now I got it! It seems if I put my finger on the rivet holding the reed all
is good. Is there a simple fix to this? Is it a removal of reed plate and a
tap with hammer than rewax? Will a super glue work instead? 4 have the
problem. What causes this? See Pic.
Its not the rivet! Its the wax and reed plate loose. Thats better I think. Ron

O.K. It's the reed wax. You should freshen up all the wax on this block to prevent future problems.
