Hi everyone, my name is mark and so happy to be a new member of the Forum. I have a question needed an assistance. I bought an used Hohner accordion two month ago. Currently I have found when I press a key and generally pulling bellow, a buzzing sound comes out. however, it will disappear when my pulling is hard. Any idea on it and how to fix it will be highly appreciate!

It's likely the valve (either synthetic plastic or leather) is worn and requires replacement. I bet you hear it on a lower frequency note, those are usually the ones that go first.

The thing is if one does this, the others are not far behind. It's not a super complex job, but its not an easy one if you have never done it before and in some cases the reed may need to be removed and re-waxed back in place which requires extra tools and materials.

The statement "when I press a key and generally pulling bellow, a buzzing sound comes out" isn't very clear. is it when pressing any key? Is it when pressing a specific key? If it is the latter then it is likely a valve issue as Jerry said (especially since the buzz disappears when you play louder). But if it is when pressing any key then it must be something completely different, possibly difficult to find.

Starting from the top of the keyboard (from your chin) which keys and how many are making the buzzing sound ??

In most casses you have a problem with leaking plastic or leather reed valves and if this is the case, you will have to
pull the treble bellows pins and examine your valves for replacement.

Wow, feel so warm to receive such quick advices from JerryPH, Debra, and Jim D at the second day I posted. Buzzing sound comes out only when a ā€œGā€ key (2nd G from chin) with Basson register pressed, and other ten registers (that accordion has eleven register in treble side) do not have the similar issue while play with the same key. I will follow your valuable ideas to see whether I am able to replace reed valve. Thanks a lot for all of your kind assistance, and feel truly lucky of being a member of the Forum.
