and of course there is a recent discussion over another DEVEYDT branded
Belgian accordion from that same period
Hi Everyone, I am new to this forum and to the accordion. I recently purchased an old accordion from an antique store in Roseville, California. I mainly play the saxophone and at the time of purchase knew next to nothing about accordions. I love vintage/antique musical instruments and this one...

i would guess that these 3 brothers Belgium accordion maker were buying bare bones
accordions from Scandalli to their specification then finishing them..
Scandalli may or may not have knows their name was being used/reused,
and of course Scandalli may have had absolutely nothing to do with DEVEYDT
but being far away in Italy may never have known they were being "borrowed"
the first point to establish, do any actual Scandalli's exist that have such a
Bass system ? would they have even considered in their own infancy tailoring
a model to the Belgian Marketplace? or ever had a model that even LOOKS
remotely like this one physically ? (i've never seen one)
i ask this because such variations were designed, fleshed out, and built
locally back in those days, as accordion types were very locally linked to
ability, wants, desires, affordability..
