I purchased a black Roland FR-1X over the weekend... I have two weeks to soften up my husband that I purchased another accordion. This makes 10...

I just received #9, a really nice Petosa artiste CBA. #10 is being built in Norway. I finally quit telling my wife. She lost count at around #5. 10 is my absolute limit. I really mean it this time.

That’s a reason why I like Anglo concertinas. They are small enough not to catch attention and they all look and sound
“the same,” at least to my SWMBO.

Part of the lure was being able to use headphones. It’s a bit difficult to go to the garage to practice all the time.

In my house it's the opposite problem, my other half buying antique sewing machines and smuggling them into the basement while my back is turned. She got up to 50 before she started thinning the herd to make space for other stuff. At one time in the past I accused her of buying them specifically to keep me from being able to buy a small plane. She prefers accordion to me going flying or me playing the violin, so perhaps she will help me add to my collection this year.

(Bonus of her liking the sound is that I don't have to go to the garage to practice!)

I've been threatened with bodily harm if he hears an accordion in the house :ROFLMAO:
I sympathise - our house is so busy I rarely get peace to practice so confine myself to the bathroom generally - even the dog has taken to barking when I pick the accordion up!
This stuff is a great sound deadener for an acoustic instrument if you place it on the inside.
Just use masking tape to apply rather than the sticky backing on the black rubber, otherwise it will be permanent!

It’s completely brand new! They didn’t even put the shoulder straps on yet! I hadn’t expected that.

The other one just looked at it and said, ”So you can get rid of your other accordions now?” 🤣

caveat emptor..

"completely brand new" requires being purchased from an authorized
Roland Dealer/reseller in the country in which you live

otherwise there is no warranty

which is a prerequisuite to advertise something as "new" rather than "like new"

if sold by a third party, no matter how much they may hint/claim/pretend
it is new, it is not, nor is a Roland Warranty transferrable in the USA

this plays into the level of risk a purchaser may feel is acceptable for a price
more favorable than "actually brand new from a dealer"

anyhow, hope you got a good one and enjoy !

I share the problem. I have an accordion hidden behind travel cases in the garage (8 total), and I can only play it when she is out.
Normally I am also condemned to practice in the garage at high night hours. Love for the instrument...

I was viewing a Scandelli button box on ebay and "the other one" started screaming! I said, "I'm JUST LOOKING..."
