Porto Alegre, Brazil, at the moment
And though I do occasionally appreciate gaucho style music which is abundant here among hundreds of accordion players, in terms of playing I am rather interested in jazz - seems like I am a rare exception.

The recently revived East Tennessee accordion club met again yesterday. There was music, foot tapping, clapping, and dancing!

One member wrote a great arrangement for two accordions and French horn. He said for next time he might include a piano part as well!

This month we met in Knoxville. I can provide details to anyone in the area interested. Next meeting is slated for mid August. Shoes optional.

I might be interested, thank you! Let me know and I'll see if I can get away from work!

Sorry, I missed this before. Met again today - due to the holiday season many are otherwise occupied but those who showed up had a wonderful time and experienced and played some amazing music.

It would be a bit of a drive for you but if interested send me a PM so I won't miss it again. I think the current plan is for another meeting in mid Feb. About a dozen showed up for one meeting. Sometimes a few carpool to clubs in other areas, Atlanta, Nashville.

Thanks simonmax!

There is no Braemar Park near me, that's "the other" Vancouver I'm afraid (the one in BC, Canada). Langley is hundreds of miles away, and Aberdeen, while much closer than those others, is still a hundred miles or so away. But I appreciate the effort!

I see 3 people within the Portland, OR area - one is presumably me, although none of the dots are within 10 miles of me, so perhaps not. Another I'd guess to be CC_PDX, and the third might be Xiane, who I think mentioned being in the area.
I was reading your post somewhere that mentioned not gravitating towards accordion typical music? I’m about an hour north of Vancouver Wa, I’ve been playing with the WAMA and the WOTFA which their music overlaps a little, the Old Time Fiddle Association, is the larger as a whole but our district 9 is quite small. The Washington acoustic music association in more active they have a slow jam and fast/regular jam. My son and me did go to the fiddle camp in Cashmere Wa and had a blast. As the only accordion (it seams like) I’ve learned to play back-up with guitars and banjos, fiddles, mandolins and the like. I’ve been curious if I’m missing out by not playing with other accordions? I was thinking about going down to a meeting of accordions at the building where the Son’s of Norway meet in Vancouver. Have you heard of it? I took lessons about 55 years ago and then retired about three years ago and have been playing (fiddle type) music since. No accordion groups around Chehalis/Centralia Wa.
