Hello, this is my first post and I’m happy to have found this group! I’m 69 years old now and took accordion lessons from age 7 to age 20. I was a member of an accordion orchestra in Des Moines, Iowa, under the direction of Fred Boresi at Professional Music Center. We competed in the Midwest and in 1972 the orchestra went to Europe and performed at several locations.
At any rate, I’m wanting to sell my accordion. I’ve spoken to one local music shop and a couple on the East Coast. I feel that it may be worth more than the general quotes I’ve received. I’m guessing there are people on this site that have a better understanding of resale than I do. Straps are in good shape. It sounds good to me. It has been kept in a cedar closet on lower level of home with dehumidifier right outside of the door. The local music shop plugged in a cord to test amplification and it worked well.
