Hi All!

I have been handed down by my late grandfather a scandalli accordion. I would greatly appreciate some assistance in working out how old it is, maybe a model or name for it.
Also where I would find the serial number as I cannot see it anywhere.

i would say late 50's because of the grill type and shift markers

this little grey mouse is a desirable size and likely an LMM reed configuration
which is quite popular

it looks good, but how it is inside is more important..
it could still have many years left in it

this would have been a nice, midrange accordion in it's time

good used acordions seem to be a bit hard to find down under.. i am
sure someone will want this one if you don't take it up yourself

a serial number is irrellevant, as there are no records extant to refer to

I'd say it was about 10 years older (late 1940s/possibly early 1950s) because of the relatively small and right angled bellows corners, the fabric of the grille cloth and the way the bellows buttons come straight out of the bass box with no separate button-board).🙂
Which state are you in?🤔
80 basses: would suit a folk muso or busker.🙂
Prices around Australia tend to average around $A250 per reed set (retail) plus or minus for condition and any warranty offered by seller. So, plus or minus around $750.🙂

Hmmmm… waterfall keys, a sign it is from the 50’s or earlier.
This one is going to very likely need some work on the insides.

Thanks for the info! I have opened it up and had a gentle play and it sounds absolutely amazing! Something I’d love to learn at some point absolutely!!

Thanks for the info! I have opened it up and had a gentle play, and it does sound amazing, I’m no expert but the internet’s do seem very good! But unsure if any work has ever been done on them!
