side question: what brand/type shoulder straps are those?

Side answer: Neotech Accordion Harness. I like the deluxe version because of its back strap that can be positioned up/down.

All of my accordions have Neotech harnesses now.

Inflammo - I had never come across a back pad before playing an accordion (72 bass Brandoni Piccolo) loaned to me by our local accordion shop. Being a female of the species, I find it much more comfortable and my clothes don't get caught in the bellows. I see that Thomann sells them.

I just fitted a pair on mine as a test, and was pleasantly surprised. I opted for the normal version and a seperate backstrap as I was a bit scared of the plastic clips in the deluxe design.

At first impression they suit me better than the cloth straps of the Hohner variety I normally use.
