Hi Everyone!

I thought I'd advertise myself here for zoom lessons.

I'm a world champion accordionist, tutor at the University of Auckland and teach piano & button systems, both standard and free bass (quint, b and c system) in any genre or style of music.

These lessons are available to everyone and can be a one off (30min/45min or 60min) to go over any problems you may have.

My expertise is teaching masterclasses where I only see a student once or twice, so my lessons need to be able to resolve issues immediately or give the necessary tools for the student to fix their problem, whether it be technical, mechanical or musical.

If you're interested please PM me, or contact me at gmasefield@gmail.com

Hi Grayson,

What an idea! Nice one. In this world of ever developing communications technology, now is the time when we can study with great musicians from the comfort of our living room. Though, whilst I am quite comfortable with my stradella-game, having studied it for years, I would certainly like to undertake some studies on quint converter accordion, as to date I am self taught in free bass.

I personally think it is nice to work towards a goal, and I have for a long time had the desire to achieve a certain small ambition. It may be a modest one - but I have for the past few years wanted to attend the classical accordion masterclass at the L. Perosi conservatory in Campobasso, Southern Italy. It takes place over a couple of days every summer and is run by Prof. F. Palazzo of the N. Piccinni conservatory in Bari. I would love to take part with the other international students, rather than just go and observe. However, I would want to be there with a few solid pieces under my belt. I am working on Bach's Inventions and once I have one or two of them at a decent standard, I will hopefully call on yourself to polish the technique. Though I am not really into classical music in a huge way, I do think some of the baroque music is very good for technique building of both hands.

Who knows, maybe next summer, with a few Bach Inventions in my satchel, my accordion in the case, and some of your wise words in my head, I will find myself flying to the sun-baked slopes of Campobasso to meet and listen and play quint free bass alongside other like-minded musicians.

I hope to speak to you soon.

Best wishes,

Stewart
