Whether it is a wood finish or celluloid box, what is the best way to attach a gooseneck mic without marring the finish?

I don’t see any practical way of clamping or clipping it into place. 3M Command strips?

I either clip mine under the bellows strap or I bought a little vacuum suction pad clip from ebay that I stick to accordion and then clip gooseneck to that....no damage to celluloid either way ...
Cleverist thing I've seen though is to shorten gooseneck to just the capsule and attach to ring on middle finger ....I may try attaching gooseneck to my wrist ....that way mic is always close to notes being played ...

I have not used a gooseneck mic (because a bar with multiple mic capsules gives a better spread of the sound pickup) but to attach something the best way that I found is to use the bolt(s) that hold the grille in place. You can use or make a bracket (and cover it with tape if you want to be extra careful to not scratch the finish) and "screw" it in place using the bolt(s) for the grille.
