Hello
Welcome to the forum and greetings from Bavaria.
Your M-series Morino looks very nice - congratulations for owning such vintage instrument.
As far as I know there's not a direct link between serial-no and its build-date.
Hohner offers to look up their archive and send you all relevant information once you send the serial-no. to info@honer.de.
They'll charge €30,- and you'll get a certificate displaying manufacturing-date, original list-price, shipping location and on selected instruments also the original tuning.
Hello,
in the photo I see the Morino IV M model but surely not the VIM - which has a melodic bass and a keyboard range of 45 keys.
For comparison please: CLICK

Vladimir

The commonly used list states 1948-1970 for the Morino M series.
If you only want an approximate date you can check inside the accordion what reeds it has. If it has Hohner reeds (better quality on the treble side than on the bass side) then it is from the early years of production (probably up to the mid fiftees?). If it has Bugari reeds (tipo a mano) then it is of the later years of production. Generally the ones with the Bugari reeds tend to be preferred over the ones with the Hohner reeds. Both are good, but it is quite possible that the Hohner reeds are more prone to rusting than the Bugari reeds (although in all cases rust is more a consequence of where and how the accordion was used than of who made the reeds).
