Could be, but not the tune I had in mind. I don't know what it takes to identify a tune, but those 6 notes are not much to go on.
Here it is with the second phrase as well:

EFEDCDEGFEDF

OK, time is going by and no more guesses...
Here it is with a third phrase:

EFEDCD EGFEDF GcBAGA

It is not keeping with the nautical theme. I am American. But I'd be amazed if you don't know this tune.

No takers ? Not even a guess ?
The theme is music ...

Hmmmm... no sharps or flats in any of that?

Are all the notes adjacent to each other, or are there leaps up/down to another octave in there somewhere?

The hills are alive... with the sound of music...

I'll have to think of one now.

Yes .... the Sound of Music. I didn't put in F# as I understood that there was no need to add sharps or flats or octaves !

Apparently I suck at this game.
But I understood that sharps and flats need to be added (it was formulated with letters, so Fis instead of F# and Bes instead of Bb but Im sure we understand both). Octaves are not indicated.
Maybe Ill get one of the upcoming ones...

I dont know Fis and Bes though it sounds like something I might have learnt many years ago in Germany ? No problem !
In Germany you could have learned about Fis, but not Bes. In Germany instead of Bes and B they use B and H. There is probably a historical reason why the Germans have a different letter scheme than the rest of the world but I dont know what it is. (All other notes are the same as in other countries.

Ah, yes, I do remember H though not much else.
Every country seems to have something different - I'm still trying to get the hang of the French doh, ré mi (with si instead of ti) but it just doesn't come naturally. I guess I'm too set in my ways with some things !

Do re mi... is how I learned the note names in Belgium. Then we moved to the Netherlands where everyone uses letters A through to G. We used letters for bass notation in Belgium but not for singing notes: that was do re mi fa sol la si.

Mostly it doesn't matter, but sometimes with a new song which has perhaps a different arrangement, the arranger uses do ré mi on the music for the bass and also for the treble. But I just look at the music notes and play ... and hope ! Usually I just listen then I know what to do.

If you really want to make this game hard you can make an anagram of the letters.
