Way off topic. Bud Light.

It is Budweiser's fault. Letting a transgender be the new face of Bud was a huge business mistake. Of course they would lose their top spot!

Hmmm. I really don't want to get into this, but I imagine it's less of Budweiser's fault for being inclusive, and more of their customers' fault for refusing to buy Budweiser because they're transphobic 🤷‍♂️

Perhaps they are... to about the tune of a 20% drop in business to date which is HUGE. Irrespective, it was a stupid business move. If you have a successful business you don't let someone use your company as a public opinion platform and kill a good chunk of your business.

Weird. I don't watch tv so I didn't follow this. Anyway, I wouldn't drink it even if an accordionist were their spokesman. Life is too short to drink light beer.

I've not watched a full 10 minutes of news since pre-covid as all news was 99% bad news. The one time I watch for about 5 minutes this came up on 3 channels... LOL. Oh well, back to no news for me... haha.

Given the wide availability of flavor offered by microbrewery beers these days, I don’t understand why anyone would actually choose to regularly choose the weak and characterless Prohibition-inspired beers like Budweiser and its contemporaries.

Ballentine India Pale Ale - now defunct- alternating with Schaeffer "The one beer to have when you're having more than one".

Turned into a Chimay/Gordon's Scotch Ale/ Parkbrau drinker in the 70's when stationed in Germany.

Now primarily V8... it sure doesn't taste like tomato juice...

The lunatics are running the asylum....

We used to call Rolling Rock, East Coast Coors. Not really beer! Gimme Newcastle, Carta Blanca (for a light) or a Boddington, if it needs to come in a container...drafts are a different story (although draft Newcastle is hard to beat).
Never had a Bud Light.

OK time to show the new king of beers:
Snake Venom... At 67.5% ABV, Snake Venom is officially the world's strongest beer.

One bottle sends most men to their knees... LOL

I thought the Czechs had that record at 35%... apparently not! :D

Scottish Beer.
The European Union impose minimum standards on beer production (percentage of hops, malt etc.) Those standards are not in place any longer in other areas. Scotland still brew a range of full spec. beer but it tends to be more expensive.
Irn-Bru is a sweet, fizzy drink, a bit like Coca-Cola, but has a distinctive flavour. To it’s credit it out-sells Coca Cola in Scotland. It is believed, by some, to have miraculous curative powers for next-morning hangovers.
Buckfast Tonic Wine, made in England was the low cost choice of those at the bottom of the ladder. Low cost outlets such as the Supermarkets sold it at incredibly low prices (cheaper than water in some cases). The Scottish Government, a few years ago eventually succeeded in introducing a ‘minimum’ tax price limit which increased the price of alcohol and which is starting to show health benefits. Though the tax was supported by health and police authorities the tax was bitterly resisted for a few years, the resistance being led by the whisky industry.
