Hey everyone,

I have this Weltmeister Gigantilli I, and I’m just wondering the year if possible or era of manufacturing. My Google searches have not been entirely fruitful.

I’ve recently refurbished with new wax, leathers, tuning, straps, and feet. Added a back pad as well. Almost sad to say, but it’s definitely a step up from my old Hohner Tango IIB - with individually selectable bassoon reed and three options on bass this is a pretty good selection of selectable reeds on a compact box.

Thanks for looking!IMG_0645.jpeg

Hello Mr. Mark

In the 1964 brochure, this series was advertised with two models: 41/120 and 37/96. This model was probably produced in the same period.

The instruments from this period are well built compared to instruments built later.
Enjoy it!

(Only the name is just stupid )

Thanks ackordio - The aesthetic on mine feels somewhat newer though; no badge and the writing/plackards are different. It feels more appealling with clean lines being badgeless and a nameplate instead of cheap looking writing that you know is going to get broken.
