Dear all,

Can someone help me with the 5 bass register and the beneath mecanism for a Weltmeister Supita with 120 basses? I think these can be found on models which are compatible with Stella, Meteor, Cantus, Supita.

Thanks!IMG_5003.jpeg

Dear Mito44,

as you've probably noticed, no one has responded to you since Wednesday. And it's mainly because you didn't specify what your problem is and what you're really after. There are a lot of smart and skilled people here on the forum, but if you write "I have this bass mechanism, who can help me" no one will answer you. Therefore, try to formulate and describe your problems in a way that is understandable and that people can help you.

To begin with, you can read a nice example of how your request for help should probably look. Please click here: https://www.accordionists.info/threads/bass-registers-issue.7191/

The right answers are only possible after asking the right questions. ;)

Best regards, Vladimir

Hello Vladimir.

You have a good point, I will comeback with more details and photos next days.

Thanks for the link I will check it.

Best regards,

Dear all,

As I mentioned in a previous post I came back with pictures and detalis.

The bass side of the accordion has the bass switches glued, the old owner glued them all. ( I was curios too, why would you do that ? ? ? )

I took photos of the front side and to the back side, I think there are some missing parts too.

Please let me know what would you propose as next steps.

Thanks a lot!

the old owner glued them all.
I guess he just liked the full sound of the bass. He removed the metal bass register levers and glued the register slides (it looks something yellow like voice wax).
Please let me know what would you propose as next steps.
  • Study the photos to see what the removed metal levers look like and how they are attached: HERE and HERE
  • Then measure the dimensions and distances between red plastic register lamelles and slide lamelles in your accordion and try to make missing levers out of aluminum
  • In the meantime, carefully release the glued red slide lamelles so as not to damage them.
  • Clean off any glue residue so the lamelles slide freely again
  • Then insert the newly created alu-parts according to the photo templates and optimize their function.
It will require a lot of your patience and skill, but I believe you can do it. If you don't dare to do it, you can always take it to a repairman.

Best regards, Vladimir

Hello Vladimir,

Thanks for your detailed answer, I am confident that I can make the missing part from aluminium, but my main concern is that the registers, the black ones, are glued - I suppose with Loctite or something strong. That is why I do not understand why anybody do that ?

Thanks! :)

Oh no, that's a bad dream! That really is pure barbarism. I would try to loosen it (unstick it) very carefully. In case of failure, these parts can be ordered here: CLICK - it is the number 3 product: Bassregisterschalter SUPITA, Color: Black, Lenght 41 mm x Width 25 mm.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Oki. Super! I will come back with the results :)

Thanks!

I wouldn't be surprised that the mechanism was broken and the owner just disabled the whole register system. I have seen a few Weltmeister with treble registers broken and replaced with some homemade solution.

In that case, it will be a little more work. First, it will be necessary to take out both reed-blocks and then from the opposite side, take out the bass mechanism. In this case, however, it is fortunate that the bass mechanics is constructed (in the case of e.g. Supita or Cantus) as a monoblock and can be removed as a whole:

That's good news, because in the case of most (especially Italian) instruments, it is necessary to completely disassemble the bass mechanics. It will make it a lot easier (in the case of the Weltmeister-mechanics) to take it out and get to the bass switches. However, with new spare parts, it shouldn't be a problem to repair it.

I am wondering if any member could help me with some measurements and some more detailed photo of the parts that I am missing for the curent project - Supita 120 basses.
