Korg FISA SUPREMA

Like my late mom used to say: "People have money for what they want" 😊 The price might seem high but it is in line with high-end acoustic instruments, and digital models from other makers. Besides, you buy a lot more than an accordion with that sum!
For me, just another tax deduction.😊

who did you knock up ? i must have missed something
about the story of how you got your Gola
:D :D
1. That was funny as heck! Roughly 9 months to my retirement. I'm still not completely convinced if this will be a partial or complete separation from "the job", haven't decided.
2. I don't think you missed anything about the "how I got my Gola" story, but here it is if you are curious to read that story.

Has this been posted yet?🤔

This one?🤔

I saw the top of your two videos a couple weeks ago. In my opinion it is the best overall video of the new Korg. The presenter is extremely likable and enthusiastic about the instrument. He goes through several styles and options. And he's a wonderful performer. All in all, a very valuable resource for understanding more about this instrument.

Matzke was good enough that Hohner made an accordion named after him... the Mattia! :D

Look how many accordions they named after Venanzio Morino, and Morino was not much of a player.

Two little drums you can play together.

Back to the Korg FISA. I thought the topic of this post "Korg FISA SUPREMA" was getting a little "Off Topic" Maybe there needs to be a new thread that just concentrates on details of the new FISA. A thread with Specs.. and info that some of us are interested in -- stuff that tells us what the new FISA has to offer. There is too much extra "Fluff" on this thread that is now up to 18 pages. I really don't care about who is pregnant or who is the impregnator or impregnatee. This text belongs in "Accordion Chat" and not in "Digital & Midi Accordions"

The real reason for my post -- Dale Mathis has "New Korg FISA Accordion Programming by Dale Mathis" on the Kraft Music site with what he plans to do in programming the FISA. From what I can tell, he is treating the FISA as a "9X" with a lot more features that he will provide when he "digs in" to what the FISA has to offer. If you look at the FISA Owners Manual, you can see the foundation is based on the 8X with a lot of improvements. I think the nickname for the FISA will be the "9X"
Kraft music has 22 FISA's on order.

The people "in the know" about these details don't really visit here (Cory is more about the capabilities than spouting tech specs). If you want tech specs and more, there is an EXCELLENT facebook group called KORG (Technical & Operational Information) it's run by Greg V who is known to be not just a very big techie, but is also a dealer for the Fisa as well. Click on the link if this is what you need. Personally, I would not need another thread about something that exists in a more complete form elsewhere. Greg is also offering a discount on the Fisa, along with free Noel sets AND an extra year of warranty.

I looked at his group this AM. Greg V, who’s a techie who also plays, and has invented a pedal to use with the Rolands, says that Korg says they are shipping at the end of this month to early next month, but with very few pieces until production ramps up.

If I were in the market (I’m not) I’d wait to order one until the early adapters have had their say about it and production and quantities shipped have indeed ramped up, but that’s just me.

For those who want to jump right in, I’d say go with Greg (or somebody like him who’s more local to you) and avoid buying it from the big retailers.

Alan - does Greg have a website or storefront? I don't have any social media whatsoever and haven't for the past 15 years. He sounds like a good guy to purchase one from.

I'm also in the mindset of letting others be the early adopters as Korg works out the inevitable kinks in a first-run batch of products. Hopefully most of the fixes will be software-related, and not hardware-related.

In addition to the website URL which Kep posted above (he beat me to it but that’s OK) here’s an email address for Greg V:

I find it somewhat bothersome, and I'm not really sure why, that already there are going to be Dale Mathis and Richard Noel sound sets available for the new Korg. I would hope after 8 years of development with the top minds at Korg that the user sounds and sets right out of the box would be incredible and that customization would be simple with the new user interface.

For those of us that have been playing the FR-8x for a decade we understand how poor some (most?) of the factory sounds were and programming it on that tiny screen was miserable prior to the release of the editor. I've never been one for the purchasable sound sets because the way I play and combinations I use just can't be duplicated by somebody else. For a user that doesn't want to program it or wants quick access to a variety of styles and combinations it's probably quite a time-saver.

It's a labor of love for those that create these sound sets and they aren't making millions doing it. It's more of a community service project and I appreciate them. They're just not for me.
