Korg FISA SUPREMA

My FR1B would be in the trash by now if it weren’t for Dale Mathis’ sounds. What came from Roland was pathethetic.
I agree.

Many know this story here, but I picked up my 8X in mid-November 2016 and December 16th I successfully performed live for several hours with the 8X at a Christmas party for a room full of accordionists... FIRST TIME I PLAYED IN PUBLIC IN OVER 30 YEARS!

I would NEVER have been able to learn the 8X and set it up to perform in public with in one month on top of the fact that I had not even touched an accordion for decades on a factory fresh 8X, the factory sounds were very limiting.

I am grateful that not only did Richard Noel provide his sets for me, he gave them to me initially FOR FREE. Once I got back up on my feet, I sent him his full price without prompting, so for his generosity and kindness, I am thankful. Thats one heck of a "senior citizen". ;)

Bottom line, I don't expect the Fisa to be much better than an 8X in full factory fresh mode, and am glad there are people out there that are making their programming available.

I am hoping for a set of videos like they do with the Korg Arrangers. Showing a brief description of each part.
Hmmm... kind of like a JerryPH "Mild to Wild" series? If I owned one, I'd definitely love to do that, but I simply cannot afford one.

True! As is Dale Mathis, who’s sounds I have. Everyone has an opinion on which sets are “better,” but most agree they sound better than the factory sounds. I won’t buy the new Kong as long as my Roland continues to function, but I am so glad to see this progress in digital accordions. 🪗❤️

I agree with you Tom !!!
But would you play it in the open air at one of your Market Gigs ???? ............................perhaps Korg are working on an All weather Korg Fisa !!

Ps Tom .........it's my sense of humor we Brits are like that !!! I'm only joking !! my Friend

I've played my 8X outside, matter of fact it was about 25km deep in the forest at last year's Czech festival, but I was under a protected plastic roof. Good thing, it rained that day! I was dry but the dancers were SOAKED! :D :D

With the Korg arrangers, they always released a set of help video downloads. Usually found in the manual download section. If I wasn’t involved with Korg arranger, I would probably dive into one too. But have priorities now to improve my shows. A new accordion would not enhance it at this time. But I am glad to hear the Korg sound engine in an accordion. I always thought the accordion sounded great on the arrangers. Like the way they layer the sounds.

I have been talking to Cory about the Korg sound packs, he is putting a bunch together so they will be available when the instrument is.

Ha! I would not hesitate to try it at the market except that I don’t trust the batteries. I’d have to bring a backup so why bother? I don’t use any of the orchestra or drum stuff.

Well, there are occasional violin players who tune their instrument before playing even when it is comparatively new. And there is no factory reset for a violin when you happen to snap a string or the bridge when doing so.
Not the same as tuning a violin! o_O

Well, they've moved at least one. I saw one get sold at Casterfidardo Musica for that price when I was visiting there in early October. Someone thought it worth the money. I heard him playing it and it sounded good, if not perfect. A little metallic for my taste, but that was only based on a brief eavesdropping on someone else's demo.

Just comes with experience. Practice at home, know how long the packs last and go with that flow... and always have backup solutions in case a battery pack fails.

It is different on a gig. My FR4x goes up to 4 sets, maybe go another. But when I put it on the charger, they are very low. Usually on the end of the gig, I will see one dot when I do battery check. Yet had to change batteries on a gig, always a fresh charge before gig. If I go with FISA, may buy an extra battery pack, then rotate them.

Section between 6 mins and 11 mins on this impressed me. I'd like to try the compact version of the button accordion for nocturnal practicing in the flat? Does anyone know when that's released?

Turn on closed captions English setting in YouTube if your language skills aren't great....

"...all you have to do is touch the right key at the right time and the instrument will play itself"
And here how it (the instrument) does it (make sure you watch all 5 parts of the playlist):

That video, with the 5 parts was great. I don’t think I would use many of Bruti’s Sounds/effects (I couldn’t play them if I wanted to).

However, after reading Fisa’s Owner’s Manual and viewing Bruti’s demo, I am amazed at the “HUGE” amount of programming capability available on the FISA. They have left the “world” open to what you can create on this accordion

The compact line of these instruments seems like it will depend on how well the larger one do.

I will definitely wait for a compact version of FISA, if it becomes available. As a singer, a more compact model is more practical to me.

The (promised) "more compact model" still has the size of a regular full-size button accordion. The one that's out now is just larger than almost every button accordion. (It's about the size of my Hohner Artiste X S which is the same size as a Morino VI, but without the extra length for the 45-key piano keyboard.)

Interesting. My (4-reed) CBA Morino has 62 notes and its case was not wide enough for a 96-bass (37 treble keys) PA. So I am surprised that the Artiste XS should be significantly wider (I think it has somewhat fewer notes). Now the depth of those CBAs of course is a different matter: the corresponding height of the case is way more than what would be needed for that 37-key PA.
